Biography:
Born in 1975. A Jordanian with Palestinian, Syrian and Kurdish roots. Mais has worked in Amman, Cairo and Beirut in the fields of Architecture, graphic design and documentary television productions.
Her independent film career started with the making of short experimental films; It Wasn't a Question of Olives (2001), The Human Puppet (2005). The core subject of her work revolves around the question of the ‘personal' Arab identity.
She completed her postgraduate Masters degree in Documentary Directing at Edinburgh College of Art, in December 2007. Her film Take Me Home (2008), is her first feature length documentary.
She currently works and resides in Jordan.
