SUBMISSIONS TO THE 7TH BRIDGING THE GAP SHORT DOCUMENTARY SCHEME HAVE NOW OFFICIALLY CLOSED
Focused on creating imaginative and innovative short documentaries, Bridging the Gap provides a supportive training environment for new directors to work within a professional context to produce films that push the boundaries of traditional documentary.
12 ideas will be short-listed on the basis of the proposal and supporting materials. In the following weeks they will be developed and honed further so that they can be pitched to a panel of experts who will commission up to 7 projects.
As well as up to 8K cash budget (with 8K in kind production & post-production facilities) the 7 selected will receive training and mentoring over six months to create vibrant new stories interpreting the theme of Surprise in individual ways. The films are intended for distribution in cinemas and festivals in 2010/2011.
The scheme consists of Intensive workshops to help develop the selected projects. We also host public masterclasses and screenings in Edinburgh by internationally recognised speakers and filmmakers from the industry intended to benefit all filmmakers, not just the participants of the scheme. Regular updates of these classes will be issued via the mailing list and for the first time this year highlights will be streamed online.
Last year's theme, ‘Future' proved to be very successful, with one of the films, ‘Peter in Radioland' picking up Best Short Scottish Documentary at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Since its inception, BTG films have screened in over 40 countries worldwide. You can also watch our films and clips here.
However, if you require anything further please contact Rebecca at firstname.lastname@example.org , 0131 221 6204 or email us through the website.
